Summer Series event, Bernwood, Wednesday 30th June
You are invited to the next event in the TVOC Summer Series which will be held at Bernwood, near Horton-cum-Studley, on Wednesday. The car park is at SP 611117; if you haven't been there before the best approach for most people will be from the Headington roundabout on the Oxford bypass. Take the Barton exit, cross the B4027 at a staggered junction then turn right at the top of the hill in Horton-cum-Studley. When you reach a T junction at the end of this road, turn left and the car park is on your right after 200m.
There will be a mass start at 7.30pm in an open area within 100m of the car park. The usual courses are on offer, as follows (A class run all three, B class run Z only, C class run X only):
X - 1.8km, 20m, 4 controls;
Y - 1.2km, 5m, 8 controls;
Z - 2.6km, 25m, 7 controls.
The pub for after the event is the Star Inn, Stanton St John which is 5km SW of the forest and will be on the way home for most. See their website at www.welcometothestar.co.uk for more details.
