Hodgemoor Woods SCOA League event - 23 October 2011 : Officials' Comments
Organiser's Comments:
I hope you all enjoyed your visit to Hodgemoor. The weather was really kind to us and I saw several groups of people having a picnic or just enjoying the sunshine after their run.
TVOC has not used Hodgemoor Woods for a level C event for many years as there has not previously been adequate parking available. However an exploratory visit to Stockings Farm resulted in meeting a very supportive farmer, Mr Bennett, who gave us access to the lovely big field adjacent to the wood.
The Planner Mike set some challenging courses including a twist in the tail at the finish, but was then posted abroad shortly before the event and Seamus took over for the last few weeks spending a lot of time with Controller Jim finalising the map. I gather from Mike that fitting a brown course in the area was tricky, hence the back-to-back map.
As usual, the TVOC teams swung into action on the day making my job much easier, so thank you to them, thank you to Rob for building the stile and thank you all for coming.
An extra special big thank you to John Dalton who has given me lots of advice and help (including scything down loads of tall thistles after the farmer's mower broke down!).
